Very cute ideaDec 20, 2007
Very soft and very cute. The concept of being able to "care" for the pet online is also very novel and fun for kids except that there is some online advertising popups that get annoying.

My daughter loves cats and this is no exception. She also likes to take care of the cat online; however, it is time-consuming and too similar to a computer game; something I feel is a bit excessive for a 5 year-old.

Use of the Webkinz website comes with purchase of your pet. It is a very safe site for children. There are no forums and no chat. There are skills my children are learning by using the website, without realizing they are learning. It is too much fun and the grownups enjoy it too! The pets are adorable and my children are addicted!
